Newcastle Sixth Form College is proud to announce it has been officially recognised as a Learner Happiness College, following its partnership with Learner Happiness and the completion of a comprehensive wellbeing survey with its learners.
As part of NCG, Newcastle Sixth Form College took part in a group-wide initiative to better understand student experiences, gathering feedback from learners on what matters most to them - from feeling safe and supported, to having a voice in shaping their college experience.
The insights gained will play a key role in shaping the college’s priorities, ensuring it continues to create a positive, inclusive environment where learners can thrive.
Lisa Hoseason, Deputy Principal of NCG said:
“At NCG, we believe that when learners feel happy, safe and supported, they are far more likely to thrive both academically and personally.
“Achieving Learner Happiness status across our colleges is a significant step forward in ensuring that every learner’s voice is heard and acted upon. The insights we’ve gained are already helping us shape more inclusive, responsive environments where learners can truly succeed, and we are committed to building on this momentum in the years ahead.
“We are incredibly proud to see our colleges recognised with Learner Happiness status. At the heart of this work is a simple principle: when learners feel valued, heard and supported, they are better able to achieve their goals.”
Phil Divers at Newcastle Sixth Form College, added:
"At Newcastle Sixth Form College, learner voice is at the heart of everything we do. The feedback gathered through our Learner Happiness Survey helps us continually improve the support we provide, enrich the student experience, and ensure every learner feels part of our college community."
Newcastle Sixth Form College will now build on this work by continuing to gather feedback, take action on learner insights, and embed wellbeing into all aspects of college life.
This recognition reflects a wider commitment across NCG to put learner happiness alongside academic achievement, ensuring students are supported to succeed both in education and beyond.
