More than 200 students had the opportunity to visit Newcastle University as part of an inspiring Sociology trip designed to get their curiosity about higher education.

The day began with a comprehensive overview of Newcastle University, where students learned about the wide range of courses available and the university's vibrant campus life. This was followed by an in-depth session focused on Sociology, which provided insights into the diverse modules, assessment methods, and numerous extracurricular opportunities that enrich the student experience.

The trip's highlight was a captivating taster lecture delivered by Dr. Karenza Moore. During this engaging session, students explored fascinating sociological concepts, including how research influences policy and practice, the dynamics of deviance and social labelling, and perspectives on youth leisure spaces. The lecture sparked lively discussions, encouraging students to think critically about society and their role within it.

To conclude the day, student ambassadors led students on a guided tour of the university's cutting-edge campus. This behind-the-scenes look offered invaluable insights into university life and the academic environment, helping students envision themselves as future higher education students.
